Membership

Annual memberships are available via electronic payment for US $30 per year. (Payment may also be made via check, or cash at our meetings.) Benefits include: Eligibility for door prize drawings; electronic delivery of eight issues of a 16-page full-color, PDF-format newsletter called the PATACS Posts; optional mail delivery of a black and white print edition of the newsletter, and access to our membership database for non-commercial use. Members may place classified ads in the newsletter at no charge. The time, effort, and money saved from your association with PATACS will quickly exceed the nominal annual dues.

The Potomac Area Technology and Computer Society, Inc. is an IRS-recognized, 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization. Donations are tax deductible. Membership dues are not deductible. IRS documentation is available on our Organizational Documents page.

To join, renew membership, or advise of administrative changes of information (address, phone number, email) complete the electronic form - scroll down on this page. After completing and submitting the electronic form, pay dues (and make donations) via the "Pay Dues" button link to PayPal beneath the electronic form,or send a check to the mailing address at the bottom of this page.

PayPal's standard language refers to these payment transactions as 'donations,' but Member Dues are not donations, thus not deductible.
All donation amounts will be acknowledged in January, as noted below.


Donations to PATACS are Tax Deductible

PATACS is an IRS recognized, 501(c)(3) non-profit, educational organization. Donations are tax deductible, under Code section 170(c)(2), subject to the 50% limitation of your adjusted gross income. Donation acknowledgement letters are sent in January for prior year contributions.

Special Membership Promotion - Members who bring a new member to the organization will receive a 6 months' extension of their membership. The new member should list your name as the 'source' of their membership on the application form. (New member - one who has not been a member in the 36 months prior to month of received application.)
